About this workbook
Dual Aspect is a small, free course for readers in Australia who are new to online computer games. It is published by a company, funded by affiliate commission, and written to be useful to someone who never clicks a link in it.
Who publishes it
Dual Aspect is published by GRAVELGANT s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic.
Příkop 843/4, Zábrdovice, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic

Everything on this site is written by the GRAVELGANT s.r.o. editorial team. There are no individual bylines, because the pages are a shared product of the company rather than the opinion of any one person, and because a name on a page of beginner instruction adds nothing a reader can verify.
How the course was structured
The five steps follow the order in which a beginner meets the decisions, not the order in which the topics are usually explained. Someone starting out has to understand what sort of product this is, then whether their computer is suitable, then how to make an account, then what to do in the first hour, then what to do about money. Reversing any two of those produces the frustration this course exists to prevent.
Each step is written to one rule: it must be completable at no cost, on an ordinary home computer, by someone who has never done it before. Where a step could only be finished by buying something, it was rewritten.
What each step relies on
- Step 1 relies on publicly available vendor descriptions of products in this category, and on the public information of the Australian Classification Board and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
- Step 2 relies on the documentation that Windows, macOS and Linux publish about their own system information panels, and on published system requirement tables.
- Step 3 relies on the general account-security guidance of the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the Australian Privacy Principles published by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, and the scam material published by Scamwatch.
- Step 4 relies on the common structure of installers, launchers and options menus across this category, described generically rather than as a tour of one product's screens.
- Step 5 relies on the ACCC's material on consumer guarantees, the Classification Board's role in classifying games, and the family guidance of the eSafety Commissioner.
Where a statement about a specific product could not be supported by what that product's own vendor or its affiliate network publishes, the course says the vendor does not state it, or leaves the point out.
How often it is reviewed
The whole course is read through at least twice a year, and sooner when one of the linked Australian bodies changes its published guidance or moves a page. Reviews check three things: that the external links still resolve to the material described, that the instructions still match how current operating systems present their information, and that nothing has drifted into a claim we cannot support. The date of the most recent review appears in the footer of every page.
The commercial relationship, stated plainly
This site earns money. Links to War Thunder on these pages are paid affiliate links: if you follow one and create and confirm an account, GRAVELGANT s.r.o. is paid a commission by the affiliate network that operates the link. That is the only revenue this site has. There is no advertising, no sponsorship and no paid placement of any other kind.
So yes — the one product named repeatedly in this course is a product the publisher has a commercial relationship with, and you should read the course knowing that. What follows from it is set out in the Affiliate Disclosure: commission is paid on sign-ups, never on what we write; no vendor sees these pages before they are published; and no part of the course requires a purchase or a click to be completed.
We are not connected to the makers of any product named here. We are not a reseller, a partner, an authorised source or an official channel for anyone.
What this site is not
It is not a news publication, and it does not report on anything. It is not accredited training, and nothing here is a qualification. It is not professional advice — legal, financial, medical or technical — and Step 5 in particular points at the Australian bodies whose job that is. It is not a personal blog: it carries no personal accounts, no testimonials and no description of anyone's experience with any product.
Corrections
If something on these pages is wrong, outdated or unclear, write to info@dualaspect.online and say which page and which sentence. Corrections are made on the page itself, and a correction that changes the meaning of a step also moves the review date in the footer.
